Vote Monochrome

In the words of Neiman Marcus, ‘Women who wear black lead colourful lives’ and with the weather failing to show us a summer full of colour, this quote couldn’t be closer to the truth. So, this week we’re mesmerizing over monochrome- the classic combo that will ensure there are no grey areas in your wardrobe or home…

In a time of such uncertainty, from the weather to politics and everything in between, monochrome is the disciplined leader you can rely on.  The MINKPINK Eco Warrior playsuit (£58) will be the frontrunner of your wardrobe this summer with its geometric Aztec print creating crisp lines and satisfying symmetry. * Pair with the Sol Sana Chuck Heels (WERE £145 NOW £95), which can’t help but exude power in their monochrome purity.  Go for timeless black accessories in the form of Vero Moda sunnies (£14), Kapten and Son leather Campina watch (£119) and the luxe eel skin Granny purse from Becksöndergaard (£39).
Dip your toes into the monochrome palette with the Vero Moda Marrow bikini top (£14) and Tanga briefs (£12). Mix and match this sophisticated duo with your existing black or white bikini to mix up your poolside look. The matching sarong/scarf (£12) is guaranteed to come in handy during your holiday and makes a perfect cover up when the heat ramps up. Written in black and white, the Lola and Gilbert holiday mantra is one we can definitely agree to and the beach tote will carry all of our tanning essentials with ease (£15).
We’re feeling neutral vibes in the WSd shoe department of late and the Sol Sana Lawrence sliders (NOW £60) have totally stolen our hearts. Mixing up leather and raffia creates interesting textures and adds a subtle touch of wild black and white zebra to your look. The addition of gold detailing to the monochrome snake print of the Moda in Pelle Tambre (£69) sandals brings a splash of luxe glamour.

We all know Kris Jenner is an avid fan of a monochrome interior but the classic combo within the home has boldly stood the test of time and remained iconic for all the right reasons. Day Birger et Mikkelsen Home has nailed the monochromic scheme with its selection of interior accessories. Catch up on our DAY blog post here.

‘What a lovely Day’ cushion (£59)

Skull Cup (£6.95) and Oval Plate (£17)

The screen-printed motifs in the Zeal homeware collection add a warm vibe to the super stylish monochrome aesthetic. The addition of soft textures in the form of cushions (£30) and tea towels (£10) will lift your space without being too harsh. The framed insect print (£45) proves that black and white is also the perfect backdrop for a pop of colour.

In case you needed any more convincing that mono is marvellous then don’t forget that for every bagful of WSd carrier bags you return to store, you receive a stamp (worth £25) on your loyalty card.
